Quickstart
From an approved shop to a first confirmed order, in the order the steps actually happen.
This is the shortest path from an approved shop to a first confirmed order. It assumes onboarding is done — a number provisioned, the shop created. If you are not there yet, start at connecting your WhatsApp number.
Before you begin
You will need your bank account details, your payment QR image if you use one, and a price list. Fifteen minutes is enough.
Step 1 — Say hello to your own bot
Message your shop's new WhatsApp number from the owner phone. If the shop has not been set up yet, the bot replies with a short welcome and asks the first setup question.
Welcome to OrderAgent. Let us get your shop ready — this takes about five minutes and you can skip any step.
First: what are your bank details for payments?
Step 2 — Bank details
Send them as you would tell a customer. The account number is found by its shape, so it does not matter whether it comes first or last.
Maybank Sri Murugan Traders 5141 2233 4455
The bot reads it back and asks you to confirm before anything is saved. Reply
SKIP to move on and add them from the dashboard later.
Step 3 — Payment QR
Send the QR as an image. A PDF is refused deliberately — it would store fine and then fail in front of a paying customer, because the image is sent to the customer's phone as a picture.
Step 4 — Your first products
One product per line. Price, unit and stock are read from the end of the line inwards.
Atta 5kg 280 bag 40
Ghee tin 720 tin 12
Chilli powder 500g 140 pkt 60
Any line that cannot be parsed is named back to you rather than silently
dropped. Send DONE when you have finished, or SKIP to load the catalogue
from the dashboard instead.
Step 5 — Open the dashboard
Send LOGIN. You get a one-time link back, valid for fifteen minutes and
usable once. There is no password to create or remember; the phone is the
identity.
Here is your dashboard link. It expires in 15 minutes and works once: https://app.orderagent.io/auth/…
Add it to your home screen when it opens — it installs as an app.
Step 6 — Place a test order
Message the shop number from a different phone and order something.
2 bag atta and 1 tin ghee
You should get back an order card with both lines, a total, and Confirm / Add more buttons. Tap Confirm and the payment instructions arrive with your QR and a deadline.
Step 7 — Approve the payment
Send a photo — any photo will do for the test — and it is treated as a receipt. It will not verify, which is the correct outcome, and it will arrive on your phone as a card with approval buttons and in the dashboard's Today queue.
Approve it and watch the invoice arrive on the customer's phone.
Where to go next
- How a customer places an order — the flow your customers will actually see.
- Owner commands — everything you can send the bot.
- A tour of the screens — what the dashboard shows you.
